Medical marijuana profits must be pumped back into health system, says Alvarez

The Panorama interview

It takes a brave individual to shoulder activism in a small but progressive Gibraltarian society. Many movements are shrewdly cut at the stem to prevent growth of ideas, but it is those who stand firm against such malicious advances who should be given the utmost credit.

Equality Rights Group Chair Felix Alvarez is one such individual who puts himself in the line of fire on a regular basis in order to protect civil rights. He challenged politicians on Gibraltar’s antiquated civil partnerships laws and has now thrown his hat into the debate on legalised abortion and medical marijuana. Mr Alvarez spoke to PANORAMA on the back of the ERG’s Independent Civil Society Awards that took place last week at the Garrison Library, where the latter two matters were debated.
