Shame on Trevor Hammond’s politically damaging criticism of Aquarius decision, when no other nation has

Yesterday, it was Trevor Hammond’s turn to make an embarrassing political clown of himself... when he posted on Facebook the following:

“Have I missed something as to why the Government stripped the rescue ship Aquarius if it’s flag? The ship rescued migrants it wasn’t trafficking them and for that act of humanity it is stripped of its Gibraltar flag? What kind of Government do we have that would act in this way? It’s not the way I want the international community to view my country, well done Malta”.

How exactly has Hammond been following this story? It’s an unbelievable comment to make from a so called-member of parliament who supposedly, has the best interest of Gibraltar at heart, and if you believe that, you believe anything!

Hammond cannot justifiable make these statements on such a high profile international issue and say it’s a personal opinion. Because simple, its so politically charged and current, regarding a running international complex incident. One can only blame the ‘Leader of the Opposition’ wherever he is for not keeping opposition members mouths in order and in sync with party policy lines... if they have any party lines on anything!!!

I also blame Keith Azopardi for making it very obvious that he and his party are now using the unfortunate and very delicate EU migrant humanitarian crises to try to score a few political points against the government!!!
