Customs drug arrests at the frontier

When Customs Officers challenged a British man at the land frontier pedestrian channel last week, a search revealed that he was in possession of a Class A drug.

In a separate incident, on Wednesday afternoon a Spanish man was stopped by Customs Officers as he entered Gibraltar also through the land frontier pedestrian channel. He was found to be carrying approximately 2 grams of cannabis resin as well as a wrapper containing a Class A Drug.

Both detainees were arrested and conveyed to New Mole House Police Station where they were released on bail to appear at a later date.

These are the latest in a series of drug arrests carried out by HM Customs over the past weeks. The Collector of Customs has reiterated the strict zero tolerance drug policy in place in relation to the importation of drugs into Gibraltar.
