Gibraltar Will Not Renegotiate ‘Airport Agreement’

Leo Olivero

Coming straight after another jammed packed Gibraltar day in London events the Chief Minister looked primed and ready to face any questions the Lords EU Select Committee could ask him when he appeared in front of the committee to give evidence on the main issues involved in the arduous year long Brexit negotiations. The CM was accompanied by attorney general Michael Llambas.

There was no doubt either the Peers themselves were also well-prepared and prepared with questions, although some may have been somewhat repetitive as Chief Minster made the evidence gathering task of the committee quite easy coming at the back of an extremely busy 12 month period of intense negotiations which barring one or two issues that still require agreement between the sides has culminated what appears to be a positive conclusion where the UK-Gibraltar and Spanish negotiations are concerned.

The positive mood during the hour-long session was reflected in the way questions by committee members were posed. But also the usual confidant, but this time up-beat engagement by the Chief Minister during an evidence gathering session of a select committee inquiry.
