Lidington Gives Malaga Conference Gibraltar Hint:

Updated 5 years ago Leo Olivero

Speaking in Malaga at the weekend during the totally inaptly named, top-level political forum which the Spanish and UK governments seem content to describe as a ‘Tertulia’.

Mr. David Lidington UK Cabinet Minister and Theresa May’s No 2 addressed the well attended conference which included over 170 delegates from Spain and many other European nations.

His address mostly covered general bilateral issues between Spain and the United Kingdom.

However, Lidington did have a few words to say to the conference about Gibraltar when speaking on Brexit.

Lidington Mentions Gibraltar and a New Era of Relations

Lidington drew attention to Gibraltar Brexit related negotiations between the UK-Gibraltar and the Spanish Government, emphasising that because of the close collaboration with the Government of Gibraltar, it was possible to develop a Protocol and a series of memoranda for Gibraltar, advocating “a new era in our relations”.
