The RGP have revealed the names of the family found dead at Boschetti's steps. Below we print the police statement in full.

"Today, we can confirm the identities of all four persons that sadly lost their lives in the incident at Boschetti's Steps in Gibraltar. We would like to reiterate that there has been a delay in doing this simply because the family unit is an extended one and it was important that all family members were informed appropriately of the untimely deaths before a press statement was made.

The 31 year old man was British national John Joseph Shannon, born in Liverpool and his partner at the time, was Spanish national of Cuban descent, Anarda De La Caridad Perez Friman. She was 37 years of age and a mother to four children, two of which also lost their lives in this tragic incident. They were 6 week old Eve Shannon Perez, daughter of John Joseph Shannon and 4 year old Amanda Kristoffersen Perez of Spanish nationality, daughter of Rene Kristoffersen of Danish nationality, residing in Fuengirola, Spain. The two other siblings were never in Gibraltar and therefore not involved in this incident. They are currently in the care of their father.

We can also confirm that the family unit were residing in Estepona, in the Province of Malaga, Spain, before arriving in Gibraltar on Wednesday the 25th of March 2015. It is understood that it was their intention to travel to the United Kingdom.

The investigation into the deaths continue and the Senior Investigating Officer [SIO], Acting Superintendent Wayne Tunbridge at this present moment in time can confirm that his team has not arrested anyone in connection to the incident and are presently not looking for anyone else. Post mortem examinations were conducted by Home Office Pathologists who are experts in the field of unexplained deaths and experts from LGC Forensics, which is UK's leading independent forensic science provider, have been assisting RGP Crime Scene Investigators at the scene. The RGP is currently awaiting detailed reports of their findings pending further forensic analysis. The scene of the incident is still cordoned off and a detailed forensic examination continues.

Over the week investigating officers have met with members of the deceased's families who have been very helpful and continue to assist police with enquiries," ends the statement.
