If Spain had raised sovereignty at talks, the Gibraltar delegation would have walked out, says Spanish negotiator

Following the release of the EU withdrawal agreement, the Spanish foreign ministry in Madrid has come out saying that the Spanish claim to Gibraltar remains and that the co-sovereignty plan will be put forward in the next phase of negotiations. 

That is the view of Marco Aguiriano, who heads the EU negotiations for Spain. He said that had Spain raised the question of sovereignty at talks in the negotiations, the Gibraltar delegation would have walked out.
