Standing ovation at the Cave

The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra received a standing ovation from the people of Gibraltar for their performance at the Gibraltar International Jazz Festival.

The superb 19-part band treated their audience including Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Culture, Media & Sport and The Governor to a two-hour spectacular set of jazz classics at St Michael’s Cave. 

Charismatic leader of the orchestra Pete Long was joined by acclaimed vocalist Georgina Jackson who had the audience moving to a diverse range of hits from Peggy Lee’s ‘Fever’ to Jingle Bells, creating an festive and electric atmosphere in St Michael’s Cave.Alex Losardo, tour manager for the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra said “I’ve taken this band to all corners of the planet but that was one of the best performances I’ve seen from them. This venue is simply incredible, and the audience were fantastic and really entered into the spirit of the event. I’m blown away”.
