Local artists invited to use vault
GCS hopes that this initiative will result in artists using the space creatively, whilst raising awareness of the work being produced in Gibraltar. The Gibraltar Exhibition of Modern Art, GEMA, housed within a historical bastion, is a unique venue combining art with heritage, with this allowing for further appreciation of the Rock’s interesting venues.
This Development platform is in keeping in line with the Government’s aim of promoting the visual and contemporary arts on the Rock. Artists are encouraged to produce original works that may not have been shown before. The exhibition would be on show for 3 weeks, and artists will be able to sell their works, in line with the Galleries rules.
*Artists wishing to apply for the use of this cultural space, would need to submit a cover letter, with a portfolio of their work. Further information can be obtained from the Cultural Development Office at GCS, on telephone: 200 67236 or email info@culture.gi.
