New Zone Parking

Dear Sir,

Further to Mr Trinidad’s letter of 7 November: I would like to add my frustration and upset about the new Zone Parking. I live nowhere near a “Zone”.

My 83 year old sister was suddenly taken into hospital — could I go to her home and pack the necessities? No: Private Zone Parking, but plenty of empty spaces.

When she was discharged - Could I go to her home and care for her? No: Private Zone Parking, but plenty of empty spaces.

Can I go and spend time with my son and his family? No: Private Zone Parking, but plenty of empty spaces.

What is happening to Gibraltar’s caring reputation? It is not only at Christmas-time that we need to visit and care for our families. I am 74 years old with heart problems. Bus routes do not go from me to my family. Please Mr Balban, do something to help. We do not all live in town, but we do all love to see our families. Why not extend the “Free Parking from 8am to 2am” which has been applied in several areas with great success?

Yours sincerely

Christine Davies
