Should the people be asked to march in silent protest to the cross of sacrifice?

Yes I believe that a peaceful demonstration might be in order, to voice our concerns; for whilst once upon a time it was always the policy of the Foreign Office to come out saying that although the Spanish pretensions were “certainly very irritating; in fact no one takes much notice of them.” Well, the world has moved on, and guess what, they do now!

The remaining EU States may be fed up with Spain’s constant whining, but that does not mean they will not buckle under to their pressure one of these days. In the meantime I have in mind the incidents of last week.

There it was for all to see; “One Spanish warship with its guns uncovered and manned!” a headline to make your hair stand on end! That is the issue. Never mind whether it was playing the Spanish national anthem, or handing out visiting cards. This is the thing. We are all becoming so embroiled in word games initiated by the Foreign Office, that we are ignoring the stark reality which is, that a foreign warship was in BGTWs with all its war paraphernalia out in the open and manned.

That, in any other part of the world would be seen as undermining the peace and security of the area and tantamount to an act of war! The rest of the adjectives are surplus. Churchill must be shuddering in his grave.
