Gibraltar Delegation Attends International Bunker Industry Association Annual Dinner and International Petroleum Week in London

A strong delegation of Gibraltar based maritime operators joined Minister for the Port, Gilbert Licudi, along with representatives from the Gibraltar Port Authority (GPA), at the prestigious International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) Annual Dinner held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair.

This is the 25th Annual Dinner hosted by IBIA and was attended by almost 1000 representatives from across the global bunkering industry. Minister Licudi joined members of the IBIA Board at the dinner, highlighting Gibraltar’s reputation as a premier bunker port and commented that he was delighted with the significant turnout of local operators at this event, which, once again, highlighted the close and successful relationship between the Port and its stakeholders.

The dinner marks the start of International Petroleum Week in London, one of the biggest events in the oil and gas calendar. More than 1500 senior executives from all over the world gather in London for three days of conferences, seminars, round-tables and social events, bringing together the knowledge, experience and expertise of the most senior figures from across the energy world. It provides the perfect opportunity for representatives from the GPA to hear the latest news and updates, debate key issues, share new ideas and network to form partnerships with oil and gas operators, clients and investors alike.

Manuel Tirado, CEO and Captain of the Port, will also be taking the opportunity to hold a number of meetings with existing and potential key partners during his trip, as part of the GPA’s continuing efforts to promote the Port as a Centre of Maritime Excellence.
