Easter Holidays with the Youth Service
At the Youth Centre, Rags to Riches participants were kept busy designing and creating t-shirts from reusable materials and clothing whilst the Gibraltar Youth Production Team explored different styles of photography and took part in a visual treasure hunt.
Two inter-club events were organised during the week which enabled youth club members to forge new friendships and engage in different youth club settings, thereby increasing their confidence and self-esteem.
An inter-club basketball tournament took place at the Tercentenary Sports Hall which catered for two separate age groups, 6-10 year olds and 11-18 year olds, with members of all four youth clubs taking part.
The other inter-club event took place over the border in Wakana Lake, Benalup. This event saw 45 young people take part in outdoor adventure activities such as hiking, archery, team-building activities and a 1.5 km Spartan themed mud trail. These activities, in addition to the chance to experience a day out, offered the young people the opportunity to continue building and developing their personal and social skills in an alternative environment.
