The Liberal Democrats swept into power in the Gibraltar election, with over 76% of the votes representing7,220 of all the votes cast. This was a resounding success for the LibDems.

Second in the Gibraltar list was The Brexit Party with 746 of the votes, followed third by the Green Party with 467 votes.

Then came Labour followed by the Conservatives.

Gibraltar candidate on the LibDem slate, Luke Stagnetto, said it was an 'overwhelming, fantastic result.
Despite the LibDems also doing well in the whole South West region, he was one of four candidates who did not gain a seat, as was expected as he was sixth on the LibDem list.
