Spanish Right think they can take over Gibraltar via Brexit, says Spanish workers association

The association of Spanish workers in Gibraltar, Ascteg, are concerned about the establishing by the Spanish Government of two offices in Algeciras to provide information about Brexit and wonder what is behind it.

Ascteg takes the view that there is a political interest to initiate Madrid Right's aim to 'recover the Rock thanks to Brexit and that such an aim is reinforced thanks to their partners in the 'Junta de Andalucia' of the Right-wing party Vox who are anxious to return to the closure of the frontier at La Linea with Gibraltar."

They are disappointed that the Algeciras mayor Jose Ignacio Landaluce of the PP should be in charge of the two offices "when he has always been the biggest public enemy the Spanish workers in Gibraltar have had" - hence the collection by Ascteg of signatures to declare Landaluce 'persona non grata'.

They say they will forward their complaint to the president of the Junta.
