A new voter identification system for today’s Abortion Referendum

by PANORAMA reporter
When you go to vote today, a new voter identification system will be in place.
The government’s IT team have been working on a voter identification system which will speed up the process of votes, make it more secure , whilst making sure there are no clerical errors such as what polling station you are supposed to be in.

Examples could be impersonation of someone or somebody trying to vote twice under the same name. The benefits are that it makes it much quicker to identify who the person is with the picture. The system is totally secret and there is no data that will be able to be accessed by anybody else. The only thing it accesses is the voting paper that has been issued to you and if you’ve voted or not.
