As well as September being marked Suicide Prevention Month, it is also International Deaf Awareness Month.
The Gibraltar Hearing Issues & Tinnitus Association (GHITA) is a small volunteer driven organisation.

The association have been around since 2008, however they officially became a charity in 2011. 2021 is significant year for the group, as this year alongside other disability related charities and groups they formed the Gibraltar Disability Rights Federation (GDRF).
Edgar Triay, co-founder and chairperson of GHITA said: “The GDRF is the only national body representing the needs and rights for the Disabled in Gibraltar and united we invite Government and Businesses to partner with us to make Gibraltar society inclusive and equal, thus protecting the rights for the disabled.”
