Mismanagement of UEFA and FIFA funding?

by MARK VIALES
The gross mismanagement of UEFA and FIFA funding by local football clubs has led to astronomical wages paid to mostly foreign players unable to succeed in a stronger league.

An exclusive analysis some years ago uncovered that more than 70% of players competing in Gibraltar’s top division had crossed over from Spain’s lower leagues. The overflow of foreign footballers in their twilight years and at times little better than the locals available continues to hinder Gibraltar’s youth development more than eight years since UEFA admission.
Now the ongoing investigation into the secret football finances on the Rock can reveal that a Gibraltarian football team spent nearly £700,000 on salaries in 2019.
