Battle continues for the soul of the PP on Gibraltar

The reference last week to shared sovereignty in the context of Gibraltar by the President of Andalucía Juanma Moreno sounded out of place. It came as an off the cuff remark in a press conference but the incident betrays the forces that are at play behind the scenes when it comes to Gibraltar.

MODERATE

Moreno represents the moderate wing of the Partido Popular, very much in the mould of the new party leader Alberto Nunez Feijoo who has been in post since April. In a sense a party that lurched to the right under Casado is now veering towards the centre under his successor.
