Is a dog park needed in Gibraltar?

by CATHERINE NUZA

On average there are 471 million pet dogs worldwide. Substantially more than the 370 million cats that are kept as pets; so where are the dog parks in Gibraltar?

Having a furry friend holds many advantages both in the way that impact our lives and hearts. It’s not hard to understand how and why these adorable, soppy creatures worm their way deep into our hearts. The connection between man and dog has stood the test of time and with some referring to their dogs as their ‘fur baby.’ It has become ingrained in human culture globally.
Those who own pets seem to be more active, sociable as data collected by The Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI) validates. Once some people reach a certain age they sometimes become more reclusive. This is at times by choice but sometimes because their friends start to die off. It can prove to be a difficult time for some people especially if they’re widowed and spend most of their time alone.
