Negotiating a treaty through the airwaves undermines trust

It was clear that this week was always going to be a treaty crunch. 

The aftermath of the meeting with Campo Mayors in Madrid, the Spanish Prime Pedro Sanchez in the Campo area yesterday and Foreign Minister Albares down with Covid-19 have all added colour to what were rather stale and monochrome treaty negotiations until now. Yet despite all this, or because of it, the final decision on the treaty now appears to moving closer and closer to the precipice.
