It is said that only Madrid’s neighbours know the real Spain and are not fooled by the political spin and the smokescreens. In this context, both Morocco and Gibraltar have been shaped over decades into experts on the character, ambitions and predatory designs of the Spanish state.

That is why the decision of the Government to take up a notch our relationship with our southern neighbour must be seen as a welcome development. It is a good thing that there is now a Gibraltar Minister with direct responsibility in this regard.
