Placing the citizen at the centre of policymaking considerations?
Whatever the future plans the Gibraltar Government ‘designed for us before or during’ the Coronavirus emergency, they certainly surprised countless people when the Picardo government started rolling-out, unknown, unexpected and some bewildering (to most) policies, which few people, outside the cabinet circle really under-stood. Particularly, the timing of the announcements, when Gibraltar was still coming out of Covid lockdown, which we still are! Read more

HEIR OF THE OLD GIBRALTARIAN LEFT
Mark Montegriffo is an heir of the old Gibraltarian left; yet not as it exists today. Influenced by thinkers such as Antonio Gramsci and leaders like Tony Benn, Mark’s writing and activism, his political engagement and activity, is drawn upon the traditions of the socialist labour movement stemming from centuries of class struggle. Dear Governor,
we wish to bring to your notice as a concerned group of loyal subjects and citizens some information which we feel you should be party to in addition to the briefs you have no doubt already received from the F&CO and our local Government.
We know that you will be interested to see the side and perhaps listen to a growing group of people from a wide spectrum of our community who are disturbed and worried at some of the past, recent and proposed decisions which will, we feel, be affecting us all in no small way. Read more

*PETITION to Chief Minister Mr. Fabian Picardo:
Dear Mr. Picardo,
We wish to bring to your notice as a concerned group of citizens who are disturbed and worried at some of the past, recent and proposed decisions which will, we feel, be affecting us all in no small way.
This group came to be initially as a whatsapp group of concerned citizens to discuss issues of concern affecting Gibraltar and it’s people and the inadequate decisions and actions taken by our Government with little consideration or regard to the large number of persons, businesses involved plus our intrinsic way of life. A place for everyone and anyone
Youth Services in Gibraltar have been running since the 60s’, adapting and changing throughout the decades to ever meet the needs of young people. There are four youth clubs: Dolphin’s, Plater, Laguna (now at St. Theresa’s Hall), and the Youth Centre at Line Wall Road where the PANORAMA conducted this interview with Caroline Dixon. Each youth club is managed and staffed by paid employees alongside a staff of 25 part time support workers. Read more
