On Monday morning Government press conference was taken by the Minister for the Environment, Sustainability, Climate Change, Heritage and Culture John Cortes.
Towards the end of his address the minister reminded the public that ‘as we unlock, we are gaining our freedom. But with freedom comes responsibility. We now have to make our own choices as to how we behave. Read more

“Not all disabilities can be seen”
The Gibraltar Society for the Visually Impaired (GSVI) is one of Gibraltar’s oldest charities founded in 1930. The “needs of the visually impaired have changed through the years”, said Willa Vasquez, Chairperson of the society. “So, we’ve had as a charity adapted to the needs of the time. We keep changing as a charity; and we keep evolving. The only thing that remains the same is obviously that we are a support group for the visually impaired”. Read more

Yesterday’s Food Co opening was a resounding success. An entire queue of new customers awaited the opening of the new British supermarket, excited for an entire range of TESCO British branded products including ‘Irish meat’ as one customer remarked. Read more

The Government notes that the referendum on the United Kingdom and Gibraltar’s continued membership of the European Union took place four years ago, and that today is the exact anniversary of the announcement of the result. That outcome was not supported by the vast majority of the people of Gibraltar, including all the political parties and the main representative organisations. The Government of Gibraltar considers that it was a bad result for Gibraltar, for the United Kingdom and for the European Union as a whole. Read more
