Ken Westmoreland, who has long been active in promoting Gibraltar and the concept of Gibraltar having an MP at Westminster, has resigned from helping out 'on the matter of parliamentary representation for Gibraltar, more reluctantly, for the other Overseas Territories and even more reluctantly the Crown Dependencies.' The central advice to the elderly and to those persons with underlying health conditions in Gibraltar is that they should keep movement to a minimum, that they should avoid large gatherings and leave their homes only if absolutely necessary. The GSD says it welcomes and understands the legislative and practical measures being taken by the Government which are focused on containing an outbreak and mitigating the spread of the COVID-19 virus throughout Gibraltar. We also appreciate that this is a fast-developing panorama with daily developments. It is important to keep things in active review to ensure support systems are robust in case of an outbreak and that the consequences of any wider outbreak can be dealt with. Read more
