The Chief Minister will be holding his on location meetings today at Laguna Estate. Mr Picardo will be at the Social Club in the morning holding meetings with a list of people who have already made appointments to meet with him. This is the second of the ongoing "on location" clinics which will be held all over Gibraltar to ensure that citizens have direct access to the Chief Minister and which are a precursor to meetings of the Cabinet also being held in locations around Gibraltar. THE people of Gibraltar are watching anxiously from the sidelines in the wake of Spain's latest general election, which saw the far-right Vox Party more than double its number of seats, with deputy chief minister Dr Joseph Garcia fearing there may be a consequent increase in inflammatory rhetoric which could make an orderly Brexit more difficult to achieve. When heading to the pharmacy in Gibraltar it is normal to purchase prescription painkillers followed by some of the unhealthiest products on the market, sugary drinks. There are also sweets, power bars and energy drinks that contain harmful substances as well as a cosmetics section that may not fall under the strictest guidelines. It all has to do with the country’s regulations in place and, although Gibraltar has its shortcomings in this area, other counties have even softer standards. Read more

The debate regarding the regulation of cannabis has intensified in recent years. For now we’ve seen Gibraltar and other countries amending their own legislation to allow for the medicinal or therapeutic use of cannabis.
Although locally there is a growing lobby of groups and individuals who are pushing for a much more lenient and softer approach to general drugs use. Read more

The Ministry of Equality is aware of the difficulty that parents can face in continuing a relationship with their child(ren) following a parental separation or divorce. The breakup of a family is in itself stressful and when there is alienation of the child(ren) by one parent to another the situation is even more distressing. Read more

Nearly 1000 people have attended the Brexit Information Office in person with questions about the proposed departure of the United Kingdom and Gibraltar from the European Union.
The Government had determined before the summer that the former offices of Lloyd’s Bank in Main Street, which were being refurbished for another purpose, would be used as a Brexit Information Office first. The office opened on 1 October, at a time when Gibraltar faced leaving the European Union at the end of that month. Read more

The Abortion referendum on the 19 March next year or in 3 months time will mark a huge change in social thinking and our progression as a society. Though not everyone thinks that way particularly those people on the other side of the abortion debate.
This report will take no side or discuss the merits of the issue itself. Although I will say that personally, my progressive mind is probably an indication of my opinion on the debate. Read more

Parliament lift poised to proceed on western side.
The Government is poised to refurbish the Gibraltar Parliament and provide lift access to the building. This has come about following discussions with a philanthropic entity in Gibraltar that has expressed an interest in developing this as one of their projects. Read more

CEREMONIAL OPENING OF PARLIAMENT
