The Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA) has announced the installation and commencement of operations of two lifts, located at the front entrance to St Bernard’s Hospital. The new lifts will improve access for visitors and staff with mobility issues in particular. Read more

Plans are afoot to create a new Park in the area between the MidTown Development and the King’s Bastion Leisure Centre.
The park will be similar in style to the hugely popular Commonwealth Park, which it will link to via the Leisure Centre and along Queensway. There will be large grass areas as well as an open paved area, which will be available for use for projections, performances and other events. Read more

Unite the Union Health & Safety Committee, calls for a full investigation into the recent incident, at the dry dock facility at Gib Dock.
They say: "It is clear from the footage, that the incident in question was indeed of a serious nature and as a near miss, the cause needs to be fully investigated by an external party (Health & Safety Inspectors)." Read more

Elections to the European Parliament will take place next week on Thursday 23 May. The Government would encourage eligible voters to cast their vote at these elections.
The deadline for voter registration has already passed as has the deadline to register as a postal voter. Read more

The GSD encourages people to vote at the European Parliament elections on Thursday 23 May and to do so for parties that clearly advocate remaining in the EU or support a People’s Vote.
The reality is that the UK’s participation in elections to the EU Parliament [and therefore Gibraltar’s] has only been made inevitable because of the severe divisions on how and whether to exit the EU which is evident in the UK Parliament. Read more

The public will be greatly disappointed at Together Gibraltar’s immediate dismissal of the announcement of a major initiative to combat drug problems and that party’s insistence on a dangerous drugs experiment proposing to allow - and in effect decriminalise - possession of all drugs in Gibraltar, says the Government. The University of Gibraltar has signed an agreement with US-based educational institution, Broward College.
The agreement is intended to create a clear pathway for students of Broward College to transfer to, and complete, their undergraduate degrees at the University of Gibraltar. The agreement was signed during an event which saw the University host 80 delegates from international education institutions for an afternoon of lectures and networking. The event included a presentation about the University and a tour of the Europa Point Campus. Read more
