The Spanish government has told the UN decolonization seminar held in Grenada in the Caribbean, that Gibraltar is a British colony in Spain. It is just as well that minister Sir Joe Bossano attended the said seminar, as we reported recently in full, and put across the Gibraltar point of view. Read more

Gibraltar hosts the International Classic Vehicle Rally on the 18th and 19th May organised by the Gibraltar Classic Vehicle Association (GCVA).
On the 18th May from 10:00 classic vehicles from enthusiasts in Gibraltar, Spain and the U.K. will assemble at Casemates. Take the opportunity to come down to get a close look at these lovely machines. Read more

The Royal Gibraltar Police is aware of the recent spate of telephone calls made to local subscribers from a number purporting to be that of a government department. The department was contacted and informed and they confirmed that the calls did had not originated from them. Read more

The Ministry of Equality will host a Disability Symposium on 4 June . The symposium is aimed at local businesses in the private sector and is part of the Ministry’s “Equality Means Business” initiative. The aim of the day is to promote how inclusion for people with disabilities makes good business sense and advise what adaptations can be made in order to make businesses more inclusive. Read more

The Liberal Democrats have a clear-cut official policy to stop Brexit, to remain in the European Union and for a referendum on the subject and this would be in the best interests of Gibraltar and the United Kingdom. Read more

STORM BREWING, AS PATIENCE EXHAUSTED
While Spanish commercial fishing vessels continue to fish with impunity in Gibraltar waters, often in plain sight of the authorities who take no action, local anglers comply with all legislation. This often entails specific bans on species such as octopus and tuna and should they fail to do so, they face fines. They have no objection to this provided the rules are applied to all and not just locals, says the GSD. Read more

The Self Determination for Gibraltar Group (SDGG) are pleased to confirm that this year’s National Celebrations will be held from Friday 23rd August to the Tuesday 10th September.
The SDGG is working with the Gibraltar Cultural Services to produce a programme of events for the three weeks. The programme will include the Annual Gibraltar Fair, Art and Photographic Competitions amongst other cultural and social events including the National Day events on Tuesday 10th September 2019.
