Involved in girl guiding all her life
Marie Bocarisa has been the Girlguiding Gibraltar Commissioner since 2017, but has actually been involved in the association her entire life. At first she was part of Brownies, Guides and eventually became a leader, and Marie has now been a Warranted Leader for the last 27 years and is due her 30 years very soon. Read more

The long lost Montagu Sea-Bathing Pavilion plaque, missing since 1988, has finally been restored and placed on the exterior façade of the Montagu entrance. Originally, the plaque stood within the entrance in the main reception area.
The Montagu Sea Bathing Pavilion was constructed in 1929/30 and inaugurated by the then Governor, Alexander Godley on the 15th May 1930. The pavilion consisted of a main entrance hall leading to separate changing rooms for men and women and divided into 100 cubicles per wing. Read more

Should there not be an inquiry into GBC?
Being infatuated with anything can be a dangerous thing, and when you happen to be the Chief Minister infatuated with GBC, could even cost him his seat in Parliament, because he is incapable of recognising the situation he is facing especially at a time when his government is working from a deficit - and he is as pleased as Punch forking out over £14 million for GBC for the little they produce. Members of the Royal Navy who are currently serving in Gibraltar gathered in the Trafalgar Cemetery to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar.
The service was attended by Commander British Forces, Commodore Steve Dainton, the Governor, Vice Admiral Sir David Steel, and the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia. Read more
