A COVID-19 Public Information Call Centre has been established, based at No 6 Convent Place, and will take all queries regarding COVID-19 that are not medical in nature. Those who are in self-isolation or who are over 70 and require assistance should also request it here. The phone line will be answered 24 hours a day. Read more

As the COVID-19 crisis intensifies, of course it is right to worry, but at the same time… it would also be wrong to panic!

People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when a person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales.
These droplets land on objects and surfaces around the person. Other people then catch COVID-19 by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. Read more

The Government has taken the decision to temporarily close Gibraltar House in London in the face of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Gibraltar House in Brussels will remain open for the time being.

As a result of further measures announced this weekend, the public counter at the Department of Education will close as from 3pm on Monday 16th March 2020. All services will nevertheless be available by email and online.
In order to facilitate this and to keep the public informed throughout the COVID-19 outbreak, the Department of Education has today launched a website. Read more

The Director for Public Health has today advised new criteria for self-isolation.
If you have any of the following symptoms, you should immediately go home and self-isolate for 10 days. Please call 111 as soon as you can to tell us about your symptoms and a dedicated infection control practitioner will guide you from there. The symptoms to look out for are:
• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of breath
• Nasal congestion or a runny nose Read more

As part of the GHA’s continuing plans to address the COVID-19 challenges that lie ahead, the Director of Nursing and the Gibraltar Ambulance Service, Ms Sandra Gracia, together with Professor Ian Peate, the Head of the School of Health Studies, have introduced an intensive six-day training course for 35 members of clinical staff within the GHA.
The aim of this training is to upskill nurses, Operating Department Practitioners and members of the Gibraltar Ambulance Service in the fundamentals of mechanical ventilation and respiratory conditions. Read more

Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar has been overwhelmed with the number of people who are coming forward to volunteer their assistance during this time. In order to be able to co-ordinate this support, the Government’s office for Civil Contingencies has set up a unit specifically to deal with this.
Individuals wishing to volunteer for assistance are asked to complete a registration form and provide details of the areas in which they could best offer support. The co-ordinating committee will centralise the names of the all the individuals who come forward and match their skills with the community's needs. Read more
