It may not happen overnight but 5G is coming. The revolutionary technology has the potential to transform the internet and our lives as a whole. It has 100 times better capacity that 4G. However, it will not just dramatically improve internet speed but rather open up a new digital age, where technological advances exceed sci-fi movie premonitions. Gibraltarian artist Mario Finlayson has died. He was 92.
He won many local and international art awards. Apart from his many paintings, he designed many theatre and ballet sets and a number of murals. Read more

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that the EU stands for what it purports to do; an association of sovereign states designed to further their shared aims. I doubt that there are many shared aims; it’s more a case of each member state furthering their own agendas and yes, getting the backing of the EU to rubber stamp their goals. Read more

The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society is delighted to present the New Year’s Concerts featuring the well-known orchestra, The European Sinfonietta, conducted by the eminent James Ham. The concerts are organised on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education and will take place at the John Mackintosh Hall Theatre on 7 January 2020. The first one will be an Orchestral Concert for children at 5.30pm, followed by an adult concert at 8.30pm. Read more

I was apparently premature in my Panorama report yesterday when I called for political unity and hopefully a change in parliamentary (political) or ‘punch and Judy’ style encounters especially now as we enter an important year ahead with Brexit to contend with. Read more
