Two young people from Gibraltar left for India this weekend in order to participate in the Commonwealth Youth Parliament. They will join delegates from all over the Commonwealth. This is the second time that Gibraltar is represented in this forum, having attended the previous meeting which took place in Jersey in 2018. Read more

When the realization comes that we have been treading the same boards, on the same stage as we have done for years, and for some strange reason our audience has not changed one iota; one has, not to capitulate, but look at how we have done things in the past, and understand that we have to change the content of the script; not just for survival’s sake alone, but for our future wellbeing, and because we owe it to those who came before! Our stance at the UN has to be revived; it has to be seen with fresh eyes and fresh input; because our performances so far have fallen on deaf ears; or better said; on ears that will not listen. The audience has become stale and we as players need some new strategy that will not so much wake them up, but rock their foundations. Read more

The Ministry of Culture is pleased to announce that the illustrious saxophonist Stefano Di Battista a renown International Jazz artist will be performing live at St Michael’s Cave on Saturday 7th December, he will be headlining this year’s Gibraltar International Jazz Festival already in its 7th edition. People with disability often face tough challenges when trying to find employment, use public transportation, find suitable housing, attend private and public activities, and deal with architectural barriers on roads. Everybody has a right to access and use public places, such as shops, restaurants, business premises, educational institutions and entertainment venues. Read more

The Chief Secretary Darren Grech has initiated a major reform of Gibraltar’s Public Service to be rolled out over the next few years.
As part of the initial stages of this reform, the Chief Secretary will meet all trade unions in the coming weeks to outline his vision and discuss the proposed programme for management reform. Read more

Yesterday afternoon saw the law firm Hassans launch their brand new Environmental Trust. In the presence of many of their Partners as well as the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, Minister For Environment Dr John Cortes as well as Dr Liesl Mesilio Torres and Stephen Warr from the Department of the Environment. Senior Partner James Levy said that “The firm have injected £80,000 to the Trust and will increase over the years by the firm injecting £1 into it for every invoice they send out”. Read more

The Cavalcade Committee, is inviting entries for the 63rd Three Kings' Cavalcade that will take place on Sunday 5th January 2020. Already 5 floats have signed up to take part in the first event on Gibraltar’s social calendar after the New Year’s festivities, but the committee is calling for more participation and for more companies to provide trailers.
