The Cabinet met yesterday morning and discussed the question of Agency workers who are presently deployed in the Civil Service.
This was an issue that the Chief Minister had already committed to tackle in his May Day speech. The truth is that the intensive demands of the Brexit agenda have served to delay the in-depth consideration of this matter. Read more

In a letter to Manfred Weber MEP, the Chief Minister has asked Mr Weber, the Chairman of the European People’s Party (EPP), to comment on remarks attributed to him in the Spanish Press. Europa Press quoted Mr Weber as saying that, ‘the problem of Gibraltar is also a European problem and “we” are with Spain.’ Read more

Last Saturday the Youth Service joined up with the experienced and qualified Dramatherapist, Nyree Robinson, to run a series of age-appropriate workshops.
The workshops aimed to educate young people about healthy relationships. Through creativity and dramatherapy games, members explored issues and themes around respect, personal / body boundaries and interpersonal relationships. Read more

The August Bank Holiday Weekend 23rd-26th August 2019) will see the return of the much loved “most sociable yacht rally in the world”. After years of using Marina Smir on Morocco’s Mediterranean coast the large number of boats arriving together (up to 50) and management issues at Marina Smir made that destination unfeasible. Luckily six months ago a brand-new marina was inaugurated in Tangier. Tanja Bay Marina has agreed to host the rally. Read more

The finalised plans for the new St Martin’s School were approved and signed off on Friday at the Department of Education. The plans, which now include detailed layouts, are for a school that will cater for all the needs of the students, with a range of facilities to include a hydrotherapy pool, large playing area, gym, and extensive therapy areas.
