At this election experience does matter and the GSD has it in abundance. Both Keith and I worked very closely at No 6 Convent Place with the then Chief Minister Sir Peter Caruana. We know what it is to Govern. Five further members of our list have Government or parliamentary experience. The Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA) has entered into a contractual agreement for medical services with Grupo Vithas, a renowned private healthcare provider with a network of hospitals and medical centres across Spain.
The agreement will enable GHA clinicians to refer patients to Vithas Xanit International Hospital in Benalmadena (Malaga) and Vithas Parque San Antonio Hospital in Malaga. Whilst this agreement is being announced today, it is important to note that the contract was agreed before the dissolution of parliament. Read more

The Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron (RNGS) found time in their busy operational programme to host a charity coffee morning, raising £260 for the Soldiers’, Sailors’ and Airmen’s Families Association (SSAFA). Read more

GJBS and GibElec say they wish to apologise for the current power cut which has affected large areas of Gibraltar.
At about 1.30pm yesterday, whilst excavation works were being carried out in the Midtown area, a GJBS worker drilled into an electric cable which resulted in a major power failure. Fortunately, noone suffered any injury. Read more

AWAITING FOR DECOLONISATION FOR 73 YEARS
*FULL TEXT of address last night to the UN 4th Committee by DEPUTY CHIEF MINISTER DR JOSEPH GARCIA:
Mr Chairman,
Gibraltar was placed on a list of territories awaiting decolonisation in 1946.That was seventy-three years ago.
At that time, the world was emerging from the horrors of war.
The women and children of Gibraltar had been evacuated as part of the wider war effort.
They were forced to leave their homeland. Read more
