Leaked Yellowhammer report was based on worst case scenarios already addressed
The leaked Brexit No Deal plan codenamed Operation Yellowhammer was true when it was written, based on a worst-case scenario from the facts known at the time. And Gibraltar was equally affected by such considerations, but the worst case scenario as seen then is no longer the case. But bumps are expected, as would be the case when major changes take place. HMS ENTERPRISE arrived yesterday for a routine visit. preceded by HMS Defender and HMS Kent.
ENTERPRISE is a survey ship capable of providing near real-time environmental information to ships of the Royal Navy. She will also provide data that will ensure charts are up to date and help ensure freedom of navigation for all. Read more

The impact of a no-deal Brexit will be felt by everyone in some way shape or form. We have been reading and continue to be told of the real possibility and even to prepare for one. A prospect which is very much a reality since Boris Johnson took over the reins in Downing Street. Read more

Gibraltar is truly blessed. It has a great many influential friends abroad; or certainly well connected; both in the UK and in America. I no longer feel like we walk alone, as I felt some years back when I sometimes despaired at too little engagement. Time as always of course, will see the fruition of good intentions. The relationships fostered and bonds formed have come about through years of lobbying by our Government leaders. This is an indisputable fact! Groundwork and hard graft have gained us this welcome support which must give us much comfort and weight in the political arena. Read more

Yesterday saw the court proceedings in regards to the Iranian Grace 1 supertanker, and the US Department of Justice’s request for it to further detain the vessel. The tanker has been a big topic in Gibraltar since its detention on the 4th July, and many people seem to be confused by its significance and why should Gibraltar, which is not responsible for foreign affairs and defence, have taken a lead role and not the UK.
