What do the public think of Gibraltar’s COVID-19 Exit Strategy?

by MEGAN STRINGER
Following the announcement of the COVID-19 exit strategy that Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and Director of Public Health, Dr Helen Carter laid out on Friday – PANORAMA took to Main Street to find out the public’s thoughts.

Even though there were numerous points made within the press conference at No.6 Convent Place, the main comments that people made were in relation to the use of masks and the removal of testing upon arrival at the airport and port.
One lady said: “I think the exit strategy is great, I agree with mask wearing in vulnerable settings but other than that it needs to be the persons choice if they want to wear them or not. It’s great that more boosters are being offered to the elderly.”
One gentlemen said that he thinks it is a long time coming. “I’m glad that we don’t have to wear the masks anymore and no testing when arriving at the airport, it should have been done earlier in my opinion.”
Another stated: “It was bound to happen soon, I think they are the ones who know if it is the safest thing to do. Not having to wear masks in shops will be more comfortable.”
