Marlene Hassan-Nahon’s latest torrent of haphazard, stale political occurrences shows two definite things about the leader of Together Gibraltar. A prodigious capacity to regurgitate obsolete anti-capitalist, high taxation slogans, and a solid claim to the title of ‘Cassandra’, prophetess of doom who predicts misfortune at every turn. Oh dear, it`s happening all over again. It has been said that leaders need to have "trusted teams that reflect the character and integrity that you would wish to be associated with." I don`t believe that Boris Johnson has been a good judge of character, and for this he is now paying the price; his first was recruiting Dominic Cummings. Read more

SPECIAL REPORT by PETER TABERNER
Like the rest of the world Gibraltar is locked into a fight against inflation, with rising prices continuing to spiral upwards becoming an increasing concern for consumers.
The latest retail price index release by the government revealed that in the last quarter inflation had risen by 2.9%, and for the year so far there has been an upsurge in prices of a significant 7.6% by April 1.

Gibraltarians could be forgiven for thinking UK politics have fallen into a complete farce after a series of humiliating scandals that could cripple Boris Johnson’s administration. The British Prime Minister has failed to keep the jackals at bay after the COVID-19 ‘Partygate Scandal’, which sparked a controversial confidence vote he narrowly survived. Read more

I also wish to thank from afar, those who were involved in organising such spectacular events for her Majesty`s Platinum jubilee, in the UK. We are after all, part of the British and Commonwealth family; a worldwide brotherhood of nations.
Apart from the parties here organized to celebrate this occasion; sadly the last of jubilee celebrations in her Majesty`s honour in our time; we have seen yet again how the Queen is loved, and the many expressions of gratitude throughout, for having dedicated her entire life in the service of us all. Not even the inclement weather in the north dampened the spirits of those who sat outside to celebrate their party in her honour. Read more
