Proposed new development in Town Range filed with Town Planner
Filed onto the Government’s eGov Town Planning website last week, the Design Statement notes that the current site consists of two ‘portions’, firstly a four storey building that fronts onto Town Range, that comes with a shop unit and access passageway at ground level, alongside residential premises above. Aside from the shop, the rest of the building is currently not occupied and is in need of repair.
Secondly, the site consists of a ‘long and narrow portion’ that is a two-storey high building which previously had residential units but as they were in a poor state of repair, were demolished under the previous application .
“This portion of the site is in essence an ‘island’ within the wider urban block and is surrounded on all sides by existing premises between 2 and 5 storeys in height” the design statement reads.
