Individuals will start setting off fireworks on most nights now until the New Year, which could be concerning to various people.
Locally, fireworks can be a controversial topic. On the one hand, many like watching safe displays with families to culminate the end of National Day or New Year’s, but on the other, various individuals do not like how fireworks are not properly regulated and the fact that they get let off at all times of the night.
In August, a joint decision between the Self Determination for Gibraltar Group (SDGG) and Government of Gibraltar meant that this year’s National Day Fireworks Display was cancelled.
