Mariners wary as Orca incidents move into the Bay

The news of the first case of a killer whale provoking an near-incident with a sailing boat in the Bay of Gibraltar will cause legitimate concern to many people. These increasingly frequent occurrences in this part of the world had so far been confined to the actual Strait and elsewhere in the wider area.

The latest scare, was first reported in the Campo daily “Europa Sur”, and happened only metres from British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, between the port of La Linea and the southern part of the extended arm of the port of Algeciras.
