The future of education in Gibraltar

In my Opinion by Catherine Nuza

Gibraltar is lucky to be based in such a technologically rooted place that likes to keep up-to-date with devices and networking. So how can we use technology to improve our educational experience?

The question really is how much is too much and where should a line be placed? It can be hard for schools in Gibraltar to find that balance that helps to create a great learning environment for their students. Exploring up-to-date technology can seem out of reach for some.
When looking at what classrooms used to be like over 80 years ago a lot has evidently changed. The days of getting told off by physical punishment have been eliminated and the staff now rely on verbal discipline and explanations on why the student has been punished and what those consequences’ would look like.
