The Ministry of Business, Tourism and Transport is pleased to announce the roll out of new bicycle racks at ten locations throughout Gibraltar. This recent phase will provide an increase of 70 cycle spaces complementing the existing bicycle parking facilities at key locations within the City Centre and other leisure areas. Read more

A legacy in the South District

Most of you know about my musical background and my lineage but there is also my background and lineage in the property world. My great grandfather Lewis Francis I is quite pivotal in the construction of various properties across Gibraltar. One of those is the building I live in, Matilde Francis Building. The building has forty one flats and I can say without sounding biased that it truly is a gem in the South District. Read more

Results day for Bayside, Westside, and College students has been a resounding success following last week’s debacle, having achieved better results than the previous years. Michael Tavares, headmaster at Bayside School Comprehensive noted a 79% threshold for levels 9 to 4 grades. Mr. Tavares feels much more relieved after the UK Government’s U-turn to use teacher-assessed grades. It was “that the fairest thing to do”. Read more

Students received their GCSE/Level 2 results yesterday at the Gibraltar College, Westside and Bayside Schools. Like the A Level/Level 3 results issued last week, the results were issued electronically. The issuing of GCSE results was affected by a worldwide outage affecting the Google Gmail Education platforms used by all three institutions. This outage delayed the start of issuing of results by approximately one hour. Read more
