The Commissioner of Police has been using stock phrases such as 'there is always room for improvement', as if to try and brush under the carpet the serious shortcomings brought to light in the inspection of the RGP carried out by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary. The report is about how the RGP is run and how it behaves, and obviously these are issues that cannot be ignored in any democratic society. What is surprising is that the Chief Minister has remained as silent as the grave about it, but that's another story. Read more

In Spain at present there is great discontent. It appears that their President Pedro Sanchez, despite his liaisons via video conference with the different autonomous regions and their respective authorities, there is little accord to be found amongst them. The Spanish Congress grows more and more hostile and the main opposition parties like the PP or Vox, instead of trying to work together with his party for the good of Spain, are hell bent on trashing everything he does. Today is International Museum Day, co-ordinated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), which will run with the theme “Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion”. It aims at becoming a rallying point to both celebrate the diversity of perspectives that make up the communities and personnel of museums, and champion tools for identifying and overcoming bias in what they display and the stories they tell.
