In welcoming the publication of Unlock the Rock, opposition leader Keith Azopardi said:
“We have been working with Government on this document for some time to try to agree as much of it as we can and to improve the ideas and strategy within it. This is in line with our efforts to work together in the public interest. This is what Gibraltar needed when this crisis arrived and it is not over yet. Read more

GENEVA, Wednesday - All over the world, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing significant loss of life, disrupting livelihoods, and threatening the recent advances in health and progress towards global development goals highlighted in the 2020 World Health Statistics published by the World Health Organization (WHO) today.
“The good news is that people around the world are living longer and healthier lives. The bad news is the rate of progress is too slow to meet the Sustainable Development Goals and will be further thrown off track by COVID-19,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. Read more

The founding of the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Group began in 2008 by a “a group of people who were experiencing in their day to day lives extreme difficulties whilst caring for family members living with dementia”. Later in 2014, they changed its name to GADs, the Gibraltar Alzheimer’s and Dementia Society. The society is “here to assist and support people living with dementia their families and carers and to help and progress in their care and treatment. We are committed to ensuring that people in Gibraltar living with dementia and their families receive the appropriate care and support, at the right time, at the right place and that they are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve”. Vandalism
Some time back I photographed one of the benches on Waterport road which someone had tried to lift by loosening the screws which held it onto the pavement. This time they appear to have gone further. I imagine that in trying to further unloosen said bolts, they have ended up bending the wrought iron side of the bench (this must have been done with great force) and in so doing, splitting one of the boards on the seat. It seems quite extraordinary that this was done without being seen by anyone; as it must have taken some time to bring about. This type of vandalism should be eradicated by the Royal Gibraltar police; if we value public property. I understand that the benches in Main Street were all removed; but what’s for sure is that helpers like these, are not needed by Government. Read more
