Recycling has become essential in the struggle for a more sustainable and ‘green’ planet. It has become more popular locally in recent years, and one can often see full recycling bins in certain parts of Gibraltar. However, there is a widely-held belief that all recyclables are ‘dumped’ into the same van, despite the fact that people dispose of them in separate bins. Several people have told me that they do not recycle because they have seen the vans emptying all of the recycling bins into the same container. Read more

As foreshadowed in PANORAMA on Monday, following a leak in Spain, a group of EU Commission experts are in Gibraltar today to examine 'in situ' areas that concern the ongoing EU Treaty negotiations for Gibraltar.
They will visit the frontier, the airport and the port, which are areas arising as regards Frontex and Schengen. Read more

The Ministry of the Environment have reiterated their concerns regarding the problem of irresponsible dog fouling, including on beaches.
Dog fouling can be a major concern and an environmental hazard for all people of Gibraltar, not just because of the mess it causes, but as it can be a health risk and can be dangerous. Read more
